Consider the impact that Colt has made in defense of our nation with the 1911 and the M16.
-Consider the remakes of these 2 platforms both mass production and limited mass production.
-Consider the full custom markets.
-Consider the vast array of improvements of each, rifle and pistol in Civillian Markets.

I'm not informed about R&D, Military Contracts and procurement BUT......It bums me out that Colt is no longer present in our military on a large scale. Colt was an American brand easily recognized and associated with our military, shame things changed.

Dont get me started on their decline....

It all comes down to the fact they decided to rely on their history and name, instead of continuing production of quality products.
