Nit sure if its the pslmettos or not but it's not tbe little ones. The ones l keep seeing/killing are about the size of a peacan.

Check your gutters, American and Smokey Brown roaches can bread heavily in clogged gutters. This may be why you see more after it rains. Also check your attic, look for roaches, sputum on wood boards, and any moisture issues. As OP said moisture issues can be leading to or causing your situation. Keep trees and bushes trimmed away from your house.
