Well new development. The JL requires sending in the stripped upper so they can drill it for the dowel pin anti-rotation system. It's free but is a hassle. Crossed of the list.

I was looking seriously at the Sampson SXS lightweight handguard but the adj. gas block I want to use won't fit under it. So it's back to the SLR Solo 14 or 15 inch job. I am going to order it this Friday. I haven't decided on which length yet but that's not really a big issue as far as I can see. That will give me a little barrel exposed at the end. I am going over it in my head to see if there any down sides to a 1 inch shorter handguard. So far I can't think of anything.
The SLR Solo like the one I posted the link to in the previous post would look just awesome if the top rail was interrupted. Everything Else stays the exact same.

They do. I had one on my 5.56 but they don't make the model I was interested in for a 308 platform. Shucks!
