Let's talk about lube

I use the stuff with Teflon in it on my o-ring chains. Every week if I'm riding daily, every two if I'm not. Clean it with a good degreaser, Wal-Mart actually sells both at a reasonable price.

For my non O-ring chains, I still use a little gear lube/rearend dope/90W-whatever gear oil. It's cheap, works well, but is very messy. Every 3-4 days if riding regular, if not maybe every 2-300 miles (keep the chain "wet" looking....yes, it's messy as a 2 year old with mashed 'tatoes).

Or you could be a sissy and get a rubber band bike. I hear it's all the rage these days. :pop2::pop2::pop2:

I've been slacking. Used Motul last time, but it's been like 750 miles since a clean. Got some Maxima chain wax and kerosene. Ready for a clean and lube. I can feel the hp loss with a dirty chain.

Not if it likes its rings.

Wd40 doesn't hurt the orings

I have owned over 15 Kwaii and raced and only used wd40
It needs to be apply more so but the chain will stay clean less mess and orings nice and lubed

Anything else collects dirt , dirt causes chain to tighten thus causes friction which causes loss power

Not my first rodeo
