Honestly, who would buy a Ducati?

This! You see the top 4 bikes everywhere. It's not everyday you see somebody riding a $35k-$60k Ducati

I've never ridden one, but the performance numbers just aren't there when compared to an average (jap) bike of the same caliber. And from what I've read, Ducati's like to understeer.

I think you will change your mind if you get the chance to ride something like an 1198. Just like my STI, the #'s dont do it justice. Sure a new 5.0 will kill my car in the 1/4 and maybe even lap a track quicker, but they are still a big, heavy turds with terrible brakes. Its the fun factor I look for in stuff nowadays. I have gotten over my burnouts, and power slides, now I want nimble, quick turn in, and great brakes. Just dont get that with domestic stuff unless you plan to dump some serious cash.

0-60 in 3.3 on a stock "old" 636 is really all I need.
