High Gravity Beers

I have a rye IPA that I brewed with some local wild honey that weighs in at 10.1% and tastes freakin' awesome. No real alcohol burn at all.

I will be bringing a World Wide Stout home with me from NY next week as well.

IPA you say? Hmmm Dallas is not all that far. Lol I love a good IPA. Perhaps we could share some of your creation? I would kick in a rack of ribs from the smoker.

New Holland Dragon's Milk is one of my new favorites! 10% Bourbon Barrel Stout

Never had anything stronger than 12% but I have enjoyed OBP2 or Orange Blossom Pilsner Squared at around 11%.

Also had some Brooklyn Brewery Double Chocolate Stout that was pretty spot on at around 10%.

Take a look at St. Bernardus...another 10.5% powerhouse.

I generally stick to the 7% or less range stuff, mainly because I like the taste of certain ingredients over the heavier alcohol taste. But that's just me. And before anyone starts the 'wimpy' beer tact...my normal drink is beer on steroids, also known as scotch.

I have to agree, I am an IPA guy when it comes to good beer. The high grav stuff can be a tad overbearing for me. Why not enjoy a nice Macallan 18yr old single malt? But hey each to thier own. Cheers
