Dicks sporting goods, are you serious?

You kids should chill about Dick's.

service Merchandise used to sell guns. Ace Hardware used to sell guns. KMart used to sell guns. WalMart used to sell hand guns, and now only sells long guns, and some, no guns. You used to be allowed to buy guns in small off the wall stores because federal permits were mandated. In other words, you could not deny anyone the ability to sell and trade guns unless they had a federal conviction. Buying and selling guns is still a common thing at North GA flea markets amongst individuals. BUying and selling guns at federally licensed gun shows is still legal and encouraged by the promoters.

Just be sensible. If you sell a gun to a criminal and he uses it, YOU are going to get the hammer. Wrong or right, YOU will get the hammer and the record for selling to a convict or to prospective criminal. Better to make your buyer pay $5 for a criminal background check than have the FBI an ATF squat you in a corner for 15 hours and question every aspect of our life.
None of those places that used to sell guns, sold them, took the customers money and then refused to deliver. Leaving them in a position where they only had 3 choices. 1)Not get the rifle they wanted. 2) Pay the now inflated panic prices for the rifle they had already bought at a fair price but weren't allowed to get. 3) Wait out the panic.
That's ****ty business and people are totally justified in their opposition of a business who chooses political lobbies over providing the service their customers had already paid for. It was far more than just deciding not to sell the scary black rifles anymore.

Didn't academy and CTD take AR'S off shelf right after sandy hook as well? I know they put em back on the shelf, but still pretty sorry.
Once again, it's not about pulling them from the shelf, it's about screwing over the people who had already paid for them.

But yes, the big box stores all do some stupid ****. Like running a background check on GWL holders and escorting you to the parking lot like a criminal. Bass pro made me go through their stupid electronic 4473 all over again because I put "rd." on my address and my driver's license says "dr." It took me two hours to get out of that place with the transfer I received. Learned a lesson that day. I only deal with the LGS now.

I remember back when Dicks pulled their stunt. This site was buzzing with Dick haters. Dicks gets a few buckets of cheap 22's in on their shelves and some of you guys go rushing back in, listing all kinds of reason to do so, and can't wait to defend them. Memories are short. I'm wondering what happens the next time a crazy person pulls a stunt (heaven forbid) to see how Dicks reacts. I'm driving a little further to Academy and paying a little more.

Don't forget, they took those preordered ARs, after screwing the buyers, and sold them in their Field and Stream stores.

"Sorry Mr Customer. I know you prepaid but we are out of the AR business. If you really want the AR you paid for, you can go buy it at our lesser known store for three times the price."

Even more important was their public statement that they didn't feel that Modern Sporting Rifles should be sold to the general public.
