Corona on a aircraft carrier

Everything has to be in writing-- capt requests help and guidance -
did he make it public ? -- not a wise move if so --
did the recipient make it public ? -- who was that?
as with most internet info, more questions than answers --

now days people have cellphones and internet, stories beat them home
I hear about todays military members whining about being away from family yet when I was deployed we only had mail to keep in touch. You wrote a letter and received a letter and no one was boo ****ing hooing about not having contact. I found out about my uncles death 6 weeks after it happened when I got a letter from my Mom. Today they have internet, skype and every other electronic convenience so my sympathy meter isn’t moving much.

Yes, I was often TAD with no communication what so ever --
Best i could do was when I got on the plane was ask the radioman to ask the od to let my wife know i was on the way -- did not always work though --
:thumb: It made receiving letters, homecomings and the rare MARS phone call a lot more special.

MARS is something newer than my time or just not something i knew about -
radio/telephone?
On the ship there were only emergency com -- Like someone dying -- a birth rated a teletype.
Heck, there was not good com even on shore duty -- I was on Oahu and a telephone call to virginia cost half a month pay --
