Collapsible Baton

Pr-24 side handle baton for the win.
Not so much clubbing, but poking.
And blocking incoming blows.

What it lacks in concealability it more than makes up for with intimidation
when you brandish it.

The PR 24 monadnock looks great when spun by its handle.
Anyone would think your part of the ghey drill team.
Strike low with the ASP. The normal reflex is to defend with upper extremities directing the strike to the head, unless you want a kill shot.

I am trying to justify a baton.

When would a non-LE guy ever use one?

When would a non-LE guy ever carry one?

I can't think of a situation that I would need a baton if I was carrying.

What am I overlooking?

I'd agree. Having said that I do have one in my car to pop windows if I ever was in the child/doggo in a locked car scenario, etc. In my opinion, and I'm not a lawyer, but I'd wager that an ASP would probably be considered a deadly weapon in court, so I'd rather just carry my 43 as a defensive tool.

I've kinda been curious about the legality of the asp in regards to escalation of force as a civy though, but hey...

Yeah. If I ever find myself in a situation where defensive or deadly force is required or even suggested, I would prefer the other person be as far away as possible, not up close and personal as required by an ASP. Thanks.
