Will be taking the family to St. George next week and have rented a house on the Bay side. Any tips for Bay fishing since we've never fished St. George? Best bait, reels, rods, other tackle, time, area, etc. Any tips greatly appreciated.

Or if you are looking to catch something with some size to it, I use shrimp to catch penn fish ( the bream of the sea) or I throw a cast net for penns or mullet.

Fiddler crabs and sand fleas are good bait as well. You might want to get a crab basket to catch blue crab. Have a great time.

You're gonna need something close to 100% deet on the bay side. I'd try some pin fish in the cut. There's always something to be caught. Good luck!

We have been going there for several years now but on opposite side. Sand flea's are great. Buy a flea rake, easy to use. Stay away from bait shop on main road...they are what we call the tourist bait shop. When you get on the island, just before it dead ends, there's a bank on the right. Turn right and theres a little bait shop on the left....locals bait shop, better prices and bait. We use ez shrimp bait strips. Has a nylon mesh inside that holds a hook gooood! It comes in 3 or 4 colors and flavors. We have started having a shark tourney amongst ourselves ( large family outing) Theres plenty to catch. We use cut bait for shark.
