AR lower assembly issue

so...i bought a lower that someone else assembled and it's doing something strange.
If the safety is engaged, the bolt will not cycle all the way open but the hammer resets. When you move the safety to the 'fire' position, the hammer releases and strikes the firing pin. Every time.

Safety holds tight, trigger works great. Detent is fine and the grip bolt is not interfering with the trigger pack.

Any ideas on what to do next? I wonder if the trigger set is twisted or out of spec.....

Do you know how to take out the hammer and trigger?

Take out your trigger and selector to be sure it was installed correctly. Did the seller mention any issues with it?

I would take them out and inspect them, make the are good and reinstall them.

He said there were no issues wth it at all. ALG defense trigger set. I'll tear it down and check everything

The hammer follows the bolt everytime it cycles with the trigger held down? Did they leave the disconnect spring out?

I never had much use for an AR before now. My experience has been mostly milsurps and battle weapons, which i used to think were tougher to repair than ar's
