.40 or 9

Wow, well since we're all necroposting....

Not wanting to offend the guy who hasn't logged in for four years, but he's displaying a ****ty taste in firearms. $300 won't get you a good or even decent full-sized pistol, unless you find a great deal on a used one. Save a little more and buy a Glock, M&P, VP9 or something equivalent.

The Sigma sucks. .40 sucks. .40 is more expensive than 9mm, so the fact that's he's trying to cheap out on shooting but wants the pricier round doesn't make sense. It doesn't have more "stopping power" (tired of that BS) - in fact, I'd argue it has LESS stopping power due to having fewer rounds on board and less potential for accurate follow up shots. If you want a handgun on a budget, get a used Glock 19 for like $400 bucks, buy training ammo, a holster that works for you, some factory mags and Federal HST for defense.

Opinions are great and all (when they're not horrifyingly wrong), but come on....let's retain at least a little truth

Love both rounds. I prefer 9mm though just because it's cheaper to practice with. :) dim 40's be expensive!
