I’ve read it’s very unique, but to compare to something maybe a little like pork, tender like duck with a slight liver taste to it. I’m not a fan of liver flavor so until the apocalypse comes and I have to eat it…someone else tell us about the experience.
Nice shooting sir! I hear them at the house almost every dern night. I think they hang out on the mountain across the way. I never see them venture down to my property. I wonder if the 17 hmr with a well placed headshot would be appropriate.
Sorry that wasn’t a serious answer. People eat it. Best to put in a stew, something like chili. I never have. Given no other options I would. Must be cooked up to a high temp. No medium rare on it !
Not a dumb question. They are rare, but known as melanistic.

There are known wolf populations in NC and possibly in TN, so why wouldn't it be possible that there was one here? Like mentioned, try to get a wildlife cam pic!

Very cool. There were tons of deer on Lake Lanier Islands. I played golf out there sometimes and they were completely used to humans. Wouldn't hardly move out of your way.
If u enter the woods in camouflage with a rifle during deer season, what are you trying to accomplish? If it is something other than to kill a deer then tell me what you are attempting to accomplish.
It's not about the $ or hauling a bag of corn around. Bringing in deer to a significant amount of hunting land is one thing. But setting up shop right next to where they feed and blasting them is ridiculous. There is no sport in that and any fool can do it. I don't see how anyone could feel...
You have the key word here. It's the mentality that is prevalent these days. Everybody wants everything conveniently right in front of them so they don't have to work for it. Pretty pathetic really.
Damn man. Sorry to hear about this. You will bounce back. Things always work out in the end. Keep your head up and stay positive.
Did your loss of employment actually have to do with the trespassing hunters?
The US Special Forces probably don't do much bird hunting or skeet shooting. Probably not the best choice for either type of shooting that the OP described.
