Your first clue was when they did not mark the item SPM or something similar. I usually let the seller know to mark it once we have a firm commitment and I do the same. There is no need to leave it up unless you are trying to obtain a better offer. Sorry this happened at any rate....

I disagree. I don't do anything to my ad until the deal takes place. If I get another offer I let them know I have a deal pending but if it falls through they are X number in line. I've marked things "SPM" and been burned. And NegFB was left.
