VV3N38 & 165gr RN 9mm

VV has load data for 3N38 and 165gr Xtreme RN in 9mm. Max load renders 981fps per their data which seems like a nice subsonic 9mm load.

anyone have any experience with this combo?

I just loaded another batch of N320 with 147gr JHP Zero bullets. I'm around 3.7gr (I think, don't quote me on that, 3.9 being max?) and will see how that cycles but so far I'm liking the VV powder in the 9mm.

i am loading 147gr zero jhp with cfe pistol at 4.0-4.1gr. cycles great. stays subsonic out of an 8" barrel.

I think 3.9 is around max load? My go to is 3.5 n320 under 147gr

I’m loading 5.5gr of N320 under a 230gr RN in my .45’s and I am liking the way it runs. I want to load up some 9mm, so I started looking at others. The 165gr interest me as well as the 147. The 3N38 offer a stout velocity for heavy 9mm

I’ve reloaded a bunch of 165gr with titegroup for quiet suppressed rounds, 2.7gr gave me 800-815 FPS and was as quiet, if not quieter, than FM Hush 165gr. Although, I stopped using 165gr when I came to the conclusion that my 147gr loads aren’t much louder and cycle stronger, and cheaper.

I have had good luck with 3.2g of N320 under a 147. Cycles my g19 with no problems
