147gr Federal HST Load Data (9mm)

I bought a bunch of pulled 147gr HSTs from American Reloading, but didn't see a lot of load data out there for the HST projectiles, so I figured I'd throw what I've found into the void just in case it'll help another reloader out there who does a search for this.

OAL: 1.125" (same as factory OAL)
Primer: Federal small pistol
Case: Federal (case volume 13.8gr H2O)
Powder: Hodgdon Longshot
Tested in a Glock 19 with a Zev 4.5" barrel

Charge wt - Velocity (5 shot average) - Standard Deviation

4.0 gr - 802 fps - 19.6

4.3 gr - 860 fps - 17.2

4.5 gr - 885 fps - 16.7

4.6 gr - 902 fps - 9.4

Velocities were pretty underwhelming. I'm considering seating the projectile just a tad deeper. I was going off of Hodgdon's data for a 147gr XTP, but when I punch the HST measurements into Quickload, it's showing that I have more case volume than the XTP data which I think is contributing to the lower velocities.

I'd be very curious to see if any of ya'll have any data/chronograph readings you could share.

Sorry, I just seen this.. I bought pulls a long while ago and used to carry them as my SD Load, I gave the 250rd I had left to my nephew when he got a new P10F.

I settled on 5.3gr of Longshot (MP275). All the numbers are from a LabRadar..
They shot great, the primers had mild cratering.. Given the velocity is from a 4.61" barrel that is comp'd, dual recoil spring system with the medium weight springs.. I'm currently running SIG/Sierra 125gr VCrowns @1,300fps the comp's working better and the reduced weight is less recoil. HST's and VCrowns are the only way to go. Happy & Safe reloading to you!
