I am just curious if anyone else is doing much pond fishing. I went last weekend and took my 7 yr old daughter and 11 month old son and the wife. I guess it was the first time I had been in a year or so. I was grateful my daughter wanted to go. I just havent made the time. I think over all we had a pretty good trip. Caught a few and had a great time. I guess my question is. Is it too hot for pond fishing or do the fish care. Of course by the time we went to church and drove to the farm it was mid afternoon in the hotest time and they seemed to bite ok.

On the smaller ponds, the water heats up to the uppers 80's and some even low 90's, when that happens the 02 level in the water is very low making the fish not want to do much of anything.

On the smaller ponds the fishtend to need a lil bit more to make them bite. I have found that catfish will bite almost any time of the day. I will usually go pond fishing really early in the morning or later in the evening when the heat is not that bad.
