Took out the infamous ODT Mosin sniper today. Warmed her up and got her dailed in for Deer Season. I used regular Russian ball, Russian sniper and Romanian or yugo 54r. She shot well and was dead on.

the mosin pu snipers can have the expectations of them too high, they all may not have shot all in one hole but i wouldn't want to be in their scopes sight. they were great for man sized targets at far distances at the time

55-60 yard. I stepped it off. Used a step ladder as a rest. Lol. Sat on a bucket for my seat. Shooting downhill. That's as far as I ever shoot deer.
Yes. The hot Romanian or Yugo ammo were the 2 closest to the bulls eye. It also makes a difference if the gun is cold. Looking at the target - the shot at 4 o'clock was shot 1 winding around until I got to shot 10 at at 2 o'clock. By shot 10 the gun was hot. Plus it's almost 90 degrees in Rome today. I was soaked.
For Deer this is very acceptable. If I was on the eastern front I would not hesitate to use it. The outcome would be the same. Lol.

Very, NICE and good shooting group.
The last 3 shots were closest to the bullseye. I will take that all day long
Plus the bore gets better and better . Alleycat you would have been horrified at that sewer pit of filth. Now after a few range sessions and a ton of cleaning she is getting good.
