So I thought I'd share a little project I just finished up Sunday Night. I was able to use it for a little bit today due to weather. The idea all started from the Reloaders Network and seeing that Loads of Bacon used a little Chinese harbor freight tool box for a casting cart.. I went all American with the idea and made a one off custom piece that'll hopefully outlast me :)

It measures 30"x96" (2'-8" exterior door width), 1/8" countersunk steel top and corners (Very High Temp paint), custom made trim, 220lb drawer slides, Refurbished Bayou Classic burner, 12 outlet 15A harbor freight power strip, stained/custom artwork/polycrylic coated, all riding one 800lb (2,400lb total) swivel locking castors.. My initial budget I was aiming for was @ or around $300.. that turned into $440 all said and done. Artwork was done using a Mod Podge/Laser printer transfer... It really only worked well on the Indian Skull and then turned into having to re-do all other pieces by hand. Inside the cubby is a 20lb tank fit in the bottom and bungee corded, cast iron pots, fan, 5gal bucket of saw dust, utensils, ingot molds, Some PPE, and even an electric skillet. The drawers are more than enough space for casting pot/pots, moulds, tools, ingots, and who knows what else. In the frame I put 2x8's on the top front for mounting a press, bench grinder, vice or whatever I so desire. The thing handles like a 1972 Caprice Classic and has my neighbors scratching their heads as to what the hell I'm up to. It was a lot of work, it certainly beats drinking, and 9 times outta 10 I don't feel like I have any original ideas.. So here's to this 1. Also had the idea to share because of Doug, Thank you for sharing your bench with us.

I'm glad you asked that question.. I like numbers and scales.. So I recorded the arduous task of sorting and will continue to perhaps.. I was able to find 2 of my 3 pages, I just typed them up. I know I started with 18 or 19 buckets and now have 13 including the Zinc. I scrapped all of the steel (practically worthless), saved some random things found in buckets, and discarded of lots of trash. If you haven't seen Elvis Ammo he has some videos of him collecting almost 2 - 55 gallon barrels full! Him and Eagle Eye got me to save all of the Zinc. I used the same magnet I use for my SSM pins, and a pair of pvc pipe cutters (kinda like big jags), and a massive steel bolt and nut that I randomly had in my garage.

Here is a list of the found data, if I find the other page I will update.

Wheel Weight Bucket Sorting

Time Taken to Sort 18 MINUTES!
11 137.65 59.80 12.3 52.3%
Time Taken to Sort 1:40

TOTAL TIME TAKEN TO SORT 19 HOURS 1 MINUTE

Total Lead W/W 699.18
Total Pure Lead 142.44

Total weight vs total Lead (both)
1413.37/841.62 = 59.5% of ALL TOTAL WEIGHT RECORDED IS LEAD

ZINC OFF OF 18-19 BUCKETS 60#S can't really put a % on that as that is total of all

Some things of mention:
All of my Fully processed buckets are 150lbs. as that is what I can safely move.
I still occasionally find a piece of Zinc here and there as soon as lead gets molten
Not all buckets are created Equal. #10 for example I remember specifically because I paid $40 for it from a shady tire shop in Palmetto and they looked at me crazy when I carried it off like a baby.. Only 18min to sort and it yielded 63%!
When I mention PURE LEAD that is Stick on Wheel Weights or some have had just big ol` chunks of scrap lead in em`

Hope this helps give a general idea.. I myself don't know that it does. To me it seems like a scratcher, either you win or you lose. Some of that nasty $hit you find in those buckets will make you feel like you're losing :( But hey I've got 1,800ish lbs of un-processed lead (74k boolits @ 170gr avg.)

I just started recording data on melts so to find the true number of what will actually be clean and use-able will be less :(
