It's getting better. I have managed to pick up a couple thousand round the last couple of months from Walmart and Cabelas. I'm not an AM shopper either.
If there were significant profits to be made, there'd be plenty of .22 on the shelves. The major manufacturers are running 24/7/365 now. It is not feasible to put another new plant online to produce it.
So its not demand that has the shelves bare? That's not what those three manufacturers are telling their shareholders. Their CEOs repeatedly blame the consumer in every interview.
Cost to put a new plant online vs. profit margin on projected sales = no new production line.
Well maybe the Chinese communists will provide consumers with the product again. That way they can add a third carrier to their fleet. I'm sure I would pay for the anchor myself.

That's why I listed 1000 round for 60 cents a round. Not because I actually wanted to sell it, but because I love watching the anti flipper crowd get their panties in a wad.
