Sig p220 very hard De-Cock

you said you "had it cleaned" at a shop in macon? was it a basic cleaning or did they detail strip it? Was it difficult to use prior to the cleaning? Someone could have buggered it up if they didnt know what they were doing.

Fully ensure firearm is clear and unloaded
Pull the left grip screws Ans remove the left grip. Pull the decocker retaining spring and pop the decocker out. Check for any signs of bending or warpae. Decocker mechanism should be flat.if that solves the problem its your decocker. How stiff/new is the gun? Its a possibility if its new you're having to work against fresh parts, or if it's old the decocking lever could be worn and bent out of shape.

This. The decocker should be pretty smooth, even if the gun is new. There should be no initial drag on the decocker, then about a quarter though the operation you will "hit the wall" where you engage the decocker. Once you trip the decocker then you will feel tension on the decocker itself. This tension will remain until you release the decocker and the decocker resets.

Just realize there was a bunch of typo's in my post but aimless hit it on the head. With sig decocking mechanisms very little can go wrong. If you're guns firing as it should and everything is running top except decocking, I'd go for the decocking lever. All it does is engage the sear and release the hammer. It's a very simple design.
