Sig p220 very hard De-Cock

I recently purchased a Sig-Sauer p220 and I'm finding the de-cock lever to be very very hard to use with one thumb. Is this normal?

Not trying to be an ass...several women have shot my various SIGs and they all seem to have trouble with the decocker.

Yes had it cleaned at eagle gun range in macon, do I need to take it back, or just go straight to a gunsmith?

haha no i'm not not a woman and don't have have small hands... I'm not a Goliath either but I've seen much bigger guys have trouble with the de-cock.

Well, if you have experience with SIG decockers and this one doesn't feel right, then chances are there's a reason.

What info do you have on it? Which model, how old, where was it made, etc etc?

Question, are you trying to use your shooting hand to de-cock or your off hand?

Fully ensure firearm is clear and unloaded
Pull the left grip screws Ans remove the left grip. Pull the decocker retaining spring and pop the decocker out. Check for any signs of bending or warpae. Decocker mechanism should be flat.if that solves the problem its your decocker. How stiff/new is the gun? Its a possibility if its new you're having to work against fresh parts, or if it's old the decocking lever could be worn and bent out of shape.
