Sierra 168 match 308 & Varget

Here's a pic of a ladder test I ran looking for accuracy nodes a while back using Varget with 168Gr A Maxs and 168gr Nosler custom competitions in 5 shot strings. The charge weight for each string is on the target.
My Remington 700BDL Varmint stainless fluted 26" 1-12 twist seems to have hit a node at 46Gr (getting hot and full case so work up). It gives me a good place to start refining for that rifle anyway.
Funny thing is just for giggles I tried the A max load in my Savage model 10PC with a 20" 1-10 twist and it put 5 into 1 hole that looked like someone poked it in there with a pencil. So much for load development for that rifle. Too Easy.
I haven't had much luck with Hornady bullets in the past but the A max and V max really shine in a couple of my .308s and 22-250s
I have several 30 calibers that prefer the Sierra bullets but have had better luck with the Gameking HPBTs being more accurate than the match kings. Something about the ogive.

Keep the 168's around 2600fps and you'll be good. Go to http://data.hodgdon.com/cartridge_load.asp.
Somewhere between 44 and 45 grains will be your sweet spot.
I don't like to quote numbers, but ngcsugrad09 has posted where my best loads are usually found too.

Nope, you're starting at the bottom like you're supposed to.
My M700 ADL Varmint 26" loves 44.4gr seated .002 off the lands....

.Not just trying varget,got some good loads with 4064 and IMR4895 are these loads seated to standard length?Tried 42 and 42.5 of varget today and didn't hit the sweet mark,but I am just getting started.
