My neighbor to my rear shoots squirrels religiously with a .410 shotgun and from time to time pellets come raining down on my roof so I doubt if he minds me sighting in my crossbow in my backyard although I place the target at the far corner of my back yard fence and I use a full 4x8 sheet of 1" plywood and a few bales of wheat straw as a back stop for my broadhead block target.
I'm shooting an Excalibur crossbow so I've never missed the block and hit the plywood yet but I just put it there to make the Neighbors next to me not freak out, but they are pretty cool and do enough wacky stuff in their back yard although they have a questionable Pitt bull that I'm afraid is going to eat one of their kids one day.
