Mccallan 12yr is nice. Walker Green hits that price point. And glen levit 15yr hits that mark. The mccallan has a nice flavor to it while the other two have a more mild flavor.

Laphroaig, Lagavulin or the Port Charlotte heavy peat. Some of my favorites. Knockando, but I have not seen it in several years.

Macallan 12 is a solid jump start. Still my default choice. Balvenie and Glenmorangie are good options too. 12yr age is good price point, start there. You want smoother, go up to 15.
If you like smokey (peat) that is a whole different thing. Personal favs are Lagavulin 16, Talisker, and Caol Ila

Talisker is one of my favorites but you must enjoy the smoky peat.
