Re-Nickel S&W Model 28

I got a S&W Model 28 in factory Nickel from 1957. This was my fathers when he was with the state patrol. It lived in the back of his safe before he gave to me. Some of the nickel came off on they cylinder and has some light rust. I took to a recommended place in Anderson SC from a friend. Been there 6 months and their nickel tank died and they can't find a replacement.

Any good places around N Georgia or Atlanta?

Fords custom finishing in Florida is best around but they stay about 10 months back logged ! I’ve used them for about15 years.

Wait....we need pics of this...if this is a true original nickel model 28 this could be a very very rare piece that does not need to be refinished...

I would rather have my fathers duty weapon in the condition that he left it to me than any refinish.
Make sure you take a look at several pictures of the work of the company you decide to use.

As stated before if this gun is a factory original nickel gun its rare...very rare

Please tell me it looks like this....5" barrel, nickel finish with blued front sight.


Only 25 were made for the Florida Hwy Patrol. These are well documented with a serial number range. Very very desirable. I can assist with correct cleaning and preserving of your father's weapon he left you if you are interested.
