Prime rib dinner at Nitrousfedlx's house

I think that y’all probably should have taken the prime rib out of the fridge several hours before to allow it to come to room temperature , makes me think oven temperature and time is spot on if meat is room temp

Yep. I was gonna suggest this, but you beat me to it. Lokks delicious anyway.

Good call. That's my fault. I forgot to mention that step when I told him my cooking method.

I've followed this simple process on Christmas for years for perfect results - this year's was 10 pounds.

Remove from refrigerator at least 4 hours before cooking
Pre-heat oven to 550
Liberally apply sea salt
Place in roasting pan just large enough to hold cut of meat (not too big)
Bake at 6 minutes per pound for medium rare (5 for rare)
Turn oven fan on high (thank me later)
Turn oven off and let stand in UNOPENED oven for 2 hours -
When removed, interior meat measurement should equal 125-130
Slice and serve
