Wife and I cleaned out the winter garden beds and planted some onions and sweet peas. Tommorrow all the lettuce and cabbage go in. May be a bit early still but you takes your chances... ;) we seeded today. Will buy some more onions this weekend to plant.

Anyone else plant?

We are in meriwether county - about 40 miles south of the airport.

I assume you are talking about plants. In your area it is prime time to plant that type of crop. I am about 50 miles N of atlanta and plant Onions, Garlic and Cabage in late fall.

I transplanted tomatoes into 3" pots today and plan to have in the garden under a row cover about 3-10.

Collards, Turnip greens and spinach planted late last year are producing like crazy.

Ron Don't mention Maters in the Winter!

I started most of this http://tomatoinformation.blogspot.com/2011/03/abe-lincoln-heirloom.html variety last year and sold a truck load on craig's list. Don't plan to do it this year. I did get some tomato seeds from a Russian lady up in NY or Pa that are supposed to be frost proof down to very low temps. Have some of those started as well as Early Girl, Black Krim, Rutgers and Large Red Cherry. Will start a bunch this week or next.

If you are serious about gardening, homesteading, survival and home steading you might want to join the homesteading today forrum. This link is to a guy up in Wisconsin that gives seeds away each year. Check him out http://www.homesteadingtoday.com/showthread.php?t=426192

Yes going to get some onion plants. Surprisingly, last year's onions we put in too late - we moved in first part april, so it was too hot, but DAMN those onions were GOOD! well this year, we had 20 onions that we thought died last year.... apparantly they just went dorment. we transplanted them to another box. We do container gardening. going to build three more boxes in the coming weeks and get ready for the tomatoes and peppers. It's been a challenge to adapt to the season here coming from savannah. Got to add more sand to the soil as well. Too much red clay! lol
