Pine Log WMA IS Closed

Just saw this on the local news.

Just a couple of months ago I made my first trip there to scout it out. I had heard it might be bought up, but didn't believe it would happen. I was thinking it might be my first opportunity to catch a north GA trout (although I know there are much better choices if I really want to do that).

It's sold now. Pine Log WMA is (according to the news) closed, and will likely be a bunch of nice houses built to take its place.

Not a huge impact for me, but this news is NOT good.

It hasn't sold. Just the DNR lease on the WMA expired and wasn't renewed.

It’s bull**** is what it is, the state gave them three different offers and the Neel family denied all three. So the state wanted to negotiate and they said no. I’m just so freaking mad about the whole situation, if I seen anybody affiliated with the family right now I would give them a damn piece of my mind.

Yep, you are correct, Sir. It is not actually sold yet according the article. The lease has not been renewed according to Fox5.

But something in my head tells me that it will eventually be sold and become a new neighborhood. Regardless, it is now closed to the public.

These came off of Pine Log, so I have nothing remotely nice to say about the property owners.
