Need some 1911 advice / recommendations

Jrollin if this is a beater gun by the sound of it, ria, citadel, Taurus, Springfield go, old colt 1991 with finish wear. I would spend 1500$ on a "beater" gun. The budget 1911s are just as reliable as Wilson combats to a point, and you wont cry when you scratch ding or see rust on it. Just my. 02

colt lightweight commander pre 70 series or 70 series or xse.kimbers are good.colt is your best bet for a great 1911 and there priced right.

One more suggestion, if no one has made it--STI. They have a range of models/prices (low end Spartan, I think, and way, way up). I have the Trojan, one step above the Spartan, in 9mm. Terrific gun, amazingly accurate, can't say enough good things about it. Worth a thought.

I was going to suggest STI earlier, but the OP wants a full size frame made out of aluminum or Scandium. STI doesn't make one in a lightweight material.
