If you get hardiplank one trick to cut it is put your circular saw blade on backwards. And wear a mask!
If you really gotta get it done pm me. Just cut a piece and nail it on.
OH and good idea get a plastic pipe extension to get the water away. They have an accordion kind that you can adjust
