Links to similar threads at the bottom of the page

Even though it reminds me of Amazon I like the links to similar threads at the bottom of the page. However, I have gone to several threads I think are new and then suddenly determine the threads were several years old. And it does not appear to be just me as I see lots of old threads revived.

Is there any way to put a time limit on the similar links? 90 days? 180 days. 2 years?

Why purge it?
If it's stupid idle chitchat, sure.
If it's a buy-sell-trade, sure.
But some very old threads have good info.
