(Since we just talked about a BB gun from an airgun company that looked like a real firearm, I chose a real firearm made by a company primarily known for
producing airguns.)
The Knocabout was only made for a couple of years during the 1950s. It was a single shot .22 rimfire. It would handle shorts and longs or LR rounds.
At a weight of 24 ounces and made of steel, I think there would've been a lot better choices on the market for a general carry pistol for outdoorsmen.
