This has been going on for as long as I can remember. It's the fault of those plastic cigarette butts strainers they put in.

If we are talking about a urinal with no contraptions or accessories in it --just the white porcelain and or brass (or stainless steel) metal fittings as it came from the factory, I've never had these splash back at me.

I prefer the really old urinals where it started mid wall and went to the floor. Aiming at a downward angle is much less likely to get the splash back than straight ahead.
