I just recently installed a tapco sling mount on my ar. When i screw the buffer tube back in the lower the tube barely covers the buffer detent but it does hold the buffer and spring in ok. Is this ok or should it be checked.

Silly question... did you remove the original end plate? Or just put the tapco on top?

Unless the tapco is hella thicker... can't really imagine what would cause it to not screw in enough.

Lol i did remove it. Everything seems to function fine. Im probably just over thinking it. From what ive read about and talk to a buddy of mine he said its fine. If it really bothers me that much i can notch out the tube

The buffer tubes without a notch don't cover a lot of the retaining pin. Just make sure your castle nut is as tight as you can get it and go shoot.
