How to become a burglary suspect!

The whole thing sounds like a scam from the get go. His house was probably never even burglarized.

You have his address. Call the local police and request an escort to settle a fraud dispute. Go collect. Might seem far for $130, but it's the principle. Also, make sure to leave bad feedback wherever you can.

I doubt they would do that. Civil matter.

You might try small claims court.... Of course, if this guy is a huge flake, you may never collect.

I suppose the police escort suggestion was a shot in the dark. I would still consider going to his home to attempt an amicable resolution in person. I wouldn't instigate anything confrontational on someone else's property, but he has no reason to keep your money. Perhaps he'll be moved to do the right thing. Your biggest obstacle here is that it's 'just' $130. Subtract gas and time and it almost doesnt seem worth it. Now that I think more about it with the distance and all, I'd probably eat the loss and think of something clever to piss the guy off. A couple good suggestions so far. Why not all of them? lol
