How do you prepare watermelon?

Growing up when we got a watermelon my folks would slice it into 1/4's and let us kids have at it with a table knife. Served on newspaper so we wouldn't make a mess.

My wife's family slices it into cubes and you eat it out of a bowl with a fork. Like restaurant style.

And sometimes if they weren't very sweet we'd sprinkle salt on it to give it a little somethin'.

And God bless whoever figured out how to make seedless watermelons!

Anyway - how does your family consume one of nature's best fruits?

Bride and I in the summer would pull a two inch plug out hollow as much as we could, fill with vodka, replace the plug tape and leave in the creek a few hours...

We cube it...easier to feed the dogs some.
Funny to watch them both chew on this strange texture...lol

We cube it also. Sometimes lightly salt it, sometimes not

Cut a hole, insert pureee mixer, blend, add vodka

I’m pretty sure I have tried all the ways,I like to cut it all up now and put in container in fridge and enjoy several days.

Wife takes a melon scoop and scoops out and puts in a bowl for me to eat with fork and puts rest In bowl in fridge for eating next two days! We’ve had several good ones this year and one that wasn’t . The goats and geese took care of the rinds. Grand mother used to make watermelon rind pickles that were good eating.

cut it in half, give my son half and I get half. Spoon it out,Spit seeds out and throw em in the woods with the rind.
