What are the pros and cons of these engines. Some guys say stay away from the turbo models. Would love to hear about real life experiences with these engines, good, bad and the ugly if any of you have experienced some pricey repairs on either one.

Ford F150 5.0 vs 3.5 Ecoboost

I have an 18’ with the 5.0 coyote engine. It’s hit and miss with these engines. I’ve been lucky with 89,000 miles and no issues which includes using lots of oil. The 10 speed transmission is a nightmare for some folks. Again, mine no issues so far. Most tranny issues include multiple replacements due to major shifting issues.
Add some catch cans and change the oil every 3k...20 with 3.5/10 speed..0 problems at 35k and its stupid fast.
What are catch cans?
282,000 5.0 all original miles and transmission , I dog the **** out of it but mantain it , all fluids

I’ve got a 2013 F-150 with the 3.5 eco boost. Just hit 107k and dumped a bunch of money on it. Would not recommend one but I do realize there are good ones out there.
14. Got it with 45k miles . Don’t plan to get a new one until it drops dead lol.
No turbos for me......
