Money, I literally have zero funds right now. On a side note your tabor tool you gave me way back when is still used everyday and in my pocket right now, love that little thing.
How much money are we talking about for a decent piece of steel in the appropriate size and specs for this knife? Just curious.

Yeah, but Damascus steel is pretty damn expensive. I was more wondering about some decent reasonably priced steel. Would something like this be appropriate for something like OldChevy's knife?

what about buying a cheap machete and cutting and grinding it to fit your size specifications
