Bourbon Renewal

2oz Bourbon (Wellers)
1oz Simple syrup
1oz fresh lemon juice
1/2oz Creme de Casis
Dash of bitters

Shake and pour over one ice cube.

Enjoy and thank me later!

Sounds tasty, I need to pick up some Creme de Casis and try it out!

I have tried most of everything listed on this thread but the one that I really enjoyed was the CHURCHILL's BREAKFAST and the BLACK MANHATTAN (I used Eagle Rare 10 instead of the Rye). I have not tried the BOULVARDIER yet though..

the Churchill did sound good.

Try the Black Manhattan with Rye. completely different flavor profile.

Add an oz of FRESH lime juice and it cuts the sweetness a bit.

Pure lime juice? I often find that lime juice has a crap ton of sugar if bought in a store.

Yes, fresh squeezed lime. Don‘t save it for the next day either. It oxidizes and tastes very bitter after a day.

And you are correct, The Rose’s lime juice, Finest Call, Daily’s, Etc. is packed full of preservatives and sugar. It tastes only minimally like real lime juice.

My youngest works at Total Wine in Kennesaw part-time while he is finishing college. Every time he has the opportunity to pick up something hard to come by, he buys it for me. Works out very well!!
