DO YOUR FIREARM A FAVOR, BUY A BOOK ON IT BEFORE YOU START 'SMITHING. YOU COULD ALWAYS TRY CALLING RIA (775-537-1444) AND TELLING THEM WHAT YOU DID, THEY MAY LAUGH SO HARD THEY SEND YOU A FREE SLIDE.

If you have a reasonable explanation as to why you did this then I apologize and retract the above comments.

Cost $0.46

Tools required: Carbide center drill, tap drill and high quality 8x32 tap, two 1/8" 8x32 allen screws, loctite, dremel tool for shortening allen screws. Brass hammer for tightening slide rails.

Also, not sure how this came up to only $0.46

Just realized, that's a full size with a bushingless barrel, Hmmm, wonder if that affected the barrels fit? I bet that's what caused the barrel to want to stay pinned in lockup. The slides original barrel bushing hole isn't angle bored like a bushing is. I think this would cause the barrel to want to stay parallel to the slide, no way for it to pivot or climb the slide stop.

Opinions?

Excellent diagnosis, but I honestly never looked passed the two holes in the top of the slide.
