Cost $0.46

Tools required: Carbide center drill, tap drill and high quality 8x32 tap, two 1/8" 8x32 allen screws, loctite, dremel tool for shortening allen screws. Brass hammer for tightening slide rails.

This tightened the lockup on my cheap $425 RIA pistol. Now the barrel feet sit on the slide stop pin like they are supposed to.

No way in hell I'm drilling into my slide.

Spend a little more, get a RIA Match.. EVERYTHING is tight from the factory!

How do the set screws affect upper lug lockup? Do they actually touch the barrel?

Was the barrel new or had it been on another gun?

did you tighten to slide rails or peen the frame rails?

Was that aftermarket barrel fit properly to begin with? I don't see how this would be ever necessary with a properly fitted barrel.

Kind of what I was thinking...

Never seen set screws in a slide before but who knows, may be a reason...

You have really gotten my curiosity up on this.
Did you read somewhere to do this?
Did you install the barrel the same time you installed the reverse guide rod plug?

Come on... I gotta know!! LOL
