Just a thought, wouldn't the roman creation of leap year make the Mayan calender irrelevant?

The date of 12-21-12 is correct. It hasn't already happened.
Too much math involved to explain here but basically the numeral system used in Mayan long count makes up for the Gregorian leap year.
