Apples and oranges. Currently the state of GA does not require a license to sell goods in your garage. It does, however, require a license to sell automobiles.

Actually in most counties in GA you are only allowed to have 3 garage/yard sales a year before you are considered to be running a business and are supposed to apply for a license and get insurance collect sales tax, ect. Some locales require a permit for a single yard sale + a separate permit for signs even if the signs are in your yard. A buddy of mine in Peachtree city got two tickets for this a couple of years ago.

You can sell 5 autos before you are considered to be an unlicensed auto dealer.

I have no problem with people doing either as long as the unlicensed auto dealer doesn't hang anyone with a bad title.
