The MDs and RNs have been getting squeezed for at least the past 20 years. They used to own and run the hospitals. Now they work for the national corporations, Insurance companies, and bureaucrats who own and run the system.

These poor overpaid holier than now Doctors, who think they they are all better than us....! Serves them right.... They only care about themselves. They are all part of the problem in the US....

#1. This is due to corporation owning healthcare systems. Rather a hospital or a "staffing agency", corporations have their greedy fingers in lots of places and ergo, are taking an ever growing piece of the pie. The playing field isn't level, and when they do get caught they can afford the million dollar fine and keep grafting. No CEO is going to take the pay cut when they can gut the docs and staff working for them. (Note: if a corporation is contracted to provide a physician for a hospital, that corporation is taking a fair sum of what the hospital is willing to pay for said physician. However, in the current market, the hospital would NOT be willing to actually pay a single physician that same gross amount. They'll claim medico-legal issues)

https://www.politico.com/news/2020/04/14/rural-hospitals-stimulus-loans-financial-crisis-184735

Government-owned hospitals were shut out of the coronavirus rescue package’s loan program, putting some of the most financially vulnerable rural health care systems in danger of running out of money just as the virus hits the heartland.

#2. And yet the "equity" firms that own "practices" are weaseling in on the money. Georgia is one of the states suffering from serious losses of small rural hospitals. And, please, no one utter those idiotic words that people in rural areas aren't as sick as city dwellers.

Oh it was tongue in cheek. Point being any other profession just about could. But people need the healthcare workers now especially more than ever. So why cut their pay? I get it, due to OR's not being in use, non essential surgeries cancelled for now, etc. But they're cutting the pay of doctor's and nurses in the ER too, who are at the heart of the fight. Seems ridiculous. So they're all working crazy hours not able to go home, but also getting paid less.

#3. Reimbursement for smaller hospitals is abysmal. Insurance will pay less for some procedures in an outpatient facility, and I'm all for that in keeping costs down. But when the corporations get involved they say that EVERYONE should be done in the outpatient setting (so they can get the money) and you have really really sick people that docs are pressured to perform surgery on as outpatients. If the docs are corporate employees, they often bend to the pressure.
Also, CMS (Medicare/ Medicaid) reimbursement rates are a joke. And they are skewed by age and incompetence. There are some cases that pay more for 15-30 minutes than cases that last two hours. Currently, orthopedics is a big (BIG) money maker for hospitals, so losing elective ortho cases is a big (BIG) financial hit.
And, in order to defer an argument with another member here, I won't call out how insurance companies delay or deny payments ad nauseam.

The MDs and RNs have been getting squeezed for at least the past 20 years. They used to own and run the hospitals. Now they work for the national corporations, Insurance companies, and bureaucrats who own and run the system.

#4. See #1. The insurance companies, the sudden increase in hospital administrators and their salaries, and the above mentioned corporate interference and milking of the system has screwed the health care worker. It is complex, and every few years there are cycles of who gets the top dollar, AND I agree that when doctors ran the whole system is was screwed up (that was why HMOs got started, docs were owning everything and referring to themselves for lab work, EKGs, X-rays, etc). However, Obamacare didn't do much except give the insurance companies cart blanche to rip off people (it may have helped some few people, but it screwed way more). Asking non medical people to design and operate health care is like asking your mechanic to fix your teeth, and asking your dentists to plumb or wire your new house. Hey, I'm great at lots of stuff, but don't ask me to play lead guitar for any band, it's not my forte.

Bottom Line: too many hands are in the health-care money pie. Get the corporations out and let practitioners determine what is fair compensation based on the market.

Are you taking any precautions - getting supplies, etc..?
I'm re-watching videos like "Coronavirus Conspiracy, Out of the Shsdows, The Fall of Cabal" 10 part series, to remind me that the Rothchilds, Clintons, Epstiens, Wiensteins, Corey Hamm, Prince Andrew etc. of the world were nothing compared to the sick Dutch Royal family PizzaGate stories. They are rather long but worth it.

Had to go to the Grocery store today....

Have 2 Ingles within 5-7 miles... Hiawassee, GA and Hayesville, NC.... Check Covid-19 status in both counties...
Each county only has 3 confirmed cases... I think we are still doing alright up here... But I did prepare...
