byf 42 P38 w/ Holster (Walther):
I bought another P38 last night and it turned out to be a reblued (I know) byf 42 matching frame, matching slide. 1329 serial number. The weird thing is, the barrel is stamped cyq, no date, no serial number. waffenampt 88 on the cyq part, waffenampt 135's on the minor parts like the hammer, Also the number 720 is on the inner side of the barrel Dont know the specific part names. But I was looking at the P38 website and it said byf only made 700 pistols in the 1942 year. Is this true? Any info on the Barrel and why its undated cyq? Also, its only a 4 digit serial number with no letter suffix. and the approx value would be nice. Thanks in advance. This is a vet bring back non import. Also, No stamp on the front of the barrel.

cyq no date, mismatching shooter but original condition. Slide Serial Number 3349h, Frame: 5185 lower case h with weird full eagle stamp then the letter BH in caps. Reverse slide, 3 waffenamps, overstamped 88, just a waffen eagle, then another waffenamp 88. This appears to be an import by Jac Alex, VA Germany 9mm Stamped extremely small on the reverse. Any dates you think this one might be? Barrel is stamped 3349e. Ill lots of pics.
