Picked this one up a few days ago and decided to try my luck with bobtailing it....added a beavertail grip safety and a few other Ed Brown and Wilson combat parts....cerakoted in midnight blue....all comments good and bad are welcome.

Nice lookin work that's a sweet 1911
Was scared to death to try it on any of my nicer 1911's.....couldn't think of a better platform than the RIA to try it out on...Of course the money spent could never be recouped but it was a fun project.....I may change the colors later on...Midnight blue was all I had left.
I think it looks great! Make one in Commander size and I'll shoot the piss out of it!
It looks great I have an RIA frame and and old Colt slide ive been thinking of bob tailing it.you may be surprised about the recoupe part it's not like it's a Frankenstein 1911 If it hit the market I would be a potential looker/buyer.
That's what I was in the market for originally. Couldn't find and close enough for decent money...so I figured I would try this one first.
