Ahhhh,

M30's blow...
RX8's blow...
Normal RX7's blow...
Fox bodies (for handling and looks) blow...
C4 vettes blow....
Miata's -> slow, but incredible handling and cheap to make pretty fast

If you want a fun car and still practical for $10K. Buy a WRX.

There are very very few cars for the $$ that cam multitask like it can. I have had many cars in my life, and have driven TONS and TONS of sports cars.

There is a reason I bought an STI over a newer Vette, Mustang 5.0, SS Camaro, M3, C65 AMG, etc....For the $$, nothing would do what I wanted like the Subaru. Its a 4 door, looks pretty cool, handles amazing, factory Brembos all the way around (not like the peice of crap Brembos on the new Mustangs, these actually stop the car). Huge trunk, descent gas mileage, good on insurance, and will last 200k+ miles.

Options for the mountains with good power to weight ratio and RWD.
1. 1997-2000 BMW Z3 2.8L wide body. You'll have money left to swap out to a Dinan suspension, intake, and exhaust. Tons of fun in the mountains and fast
2. 1970 - 1973 240Z
3. 1974 260Z
4. 1975-1978 280Z
5. 2004 Infiniti G35

I have or have had them all. Go with the 260Z if you can find one....I'll be buried in mine.
