Not sure what a 7.62×39 is capable of yet, but bro inlaw says it's plenty.Know what you can do with the weapon and make a good shot placement
I've taken a few deer with the 357, rifle and pistol. I found the 180gr a little anemic, not enough velocity. The 125 and 158gr SFP work fine. Almost all had to be shot twice. The longest one ran about 40yds. All close shots from around 5-10 to 20yds. After that I started carrying a 44mag for a side arm so that I didn't have to chase the deer down. One careful shot and you're done. Any more than that and you're messing meat up. I've taken deer up to @100yds with the 44 and @130yds with a 45 Colt rifle. Those deer never took another stepWhat's your longest shot kill with 357? I had read it should be in theory good to about 150 yards
I understand it's about the same as a 30-30. Not my cup of tea, but probably the most popular for deer huntingNot sure what a 7.62×39 is capable of yet, but bro inlaw says it's plenty.
Less they 50 yds...What's your longest shot kill with 357? I had read it should be in theory good to about 150 yards
