The AR 10 is easier to get a solid scope mount on. The M 14 scope is slightly to the left of center. Both are good platforms. The M - 14 will work with a little more dirt in it. The AR tolerances are tighter which will lead to greater accuracy. Ask your self where you plan to use it.

Our military is retarded... The original submitted firearm was armamite model 10. They said no because it was a very unconventional design at the time... So armamite revamped and made a 556 platform, that somehow colt got their hands on and sold to the military as the m16. I think we shoulda been slinging 308s since Vietnam instead of shooting 223 fmjs in hopes to wound an enemy causing "two casualties(one to administer care)... **** Geneva, 308 hps and scp's are what we shoulda been rocking. Imagine, a hollowpoint round that devastates enemy personell, mushrooming as appropriate, while also retaining a inner steel core to punch through enemy cover or trauma plates.... I bet their aks aren't loaded by Geneva standards.
